This CPD was detailed, interesting and informative. Professor Richard Hammersley shared his knowledge and experience in an accessible way which I found helpful. There was little time for questions but the webinar on Working with Substance Use Issues was full leaving much to think about in my work with couples.

I found the workshop helpful and presented well, but I think I was looking for more how I could apply it to my counselling work.

An informative and interesting hour and a half. It feels good to have my own views confirmed (e.g., an evolved version of the self-medication hypothesis) and that people often recover from problematic drug and alcohol use themselves (Stanton Peele). Additionally, though not explicitly stated, the idea that we need to be where the client is and accept their goals. Our goal may be total abstinence, but that may not be the client's goal. Addiction Professionals (previously FDAP) want us to have more CPD - it would be great if Professor Hammersley could provide a longer training with Grayrock that isn't basic but aimed at experienced professionals.

I attended the workshop on 'A Compassionate Approach to Self-Criticism' with Professor Paul Gilbert. This was well presented by Paul who has a very engaging manner. It included a lot of material which will be worth my while to go over again. It contained exercises and techniques to help identify the cause of our self-bullying and how to learn to deal with ourselves in a more compassionate way, how to tap into our compassion system.

Excellent. We are not practitioners and were unsure whether we should en-roll and attend. However we did and the five hours workshop flew by. Gwen is an accomplished and word perfect presenter. Periodically she told us the topics completed and what was next. Controlled. Informative. Moving. In depth. Marvellous. Thank you, Barend and Pauline van der Sanden

Fantastic training with Catherine O'Keeffe. Very informative, the presentation was really helpful, and great use of the flip chart to really bring the information home and help you understand how you can use the same examples in the same way with clients, so great all round! Thank you.
